A House For Your Matchsticks: a DW Home DIY Project!

One of the best parts about being a candle lover is coming up with creative ways to re-use your candle when it’s been burned through. Lately, we have been obsessing over turning our used up candles into match holders! To celebrate Earth Day, we wanted to share a fun (and super easy!) way to repurpose those cute candle jars you have lying around (we don’t like throwing the pretty ones away either)
-Strike Paper (we ordered ours as pre-cut stickers from Amazon - there are a ton of different shapes/colors you can choose from!)
-Glue & Scissors (if not using pre-cut strike paper stickers)
-An empty, cleaned-out candle jar
Boil some water on the stove or using an electric kettle. Once the water has reached its boiling point, carefully pour water into the empty candle jar, filling up to one inch from the top. Let this sit until the water has cooled and the wax has pooled and hardened at the top. Once you have reached this stage, remove the wax, empty out the dirty water, and pull out the wick. Now all you have to do is wash your empty candle jar with soap and water. Don’t forget to dry it too!
